The Cincinnati Bengals, Marvin Lewis Community Fund, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, Cincinnati Recreation Commission, Baker Concrete, Best Buy, Chiquita, College Hill Council, Service Supply Limited, Pavestone, Home Depot, and many other corporate partners teamed up for the 10th annual NFL/United Way Hometown Huddle, on Tuesday, October 7th.
At College Hill Park in Belmont, this year’s project built an activity course for kids that encourages physical fitness and social skills. Two youth basketball-shooting courts complete with new concrete and hoops were also built. The pool fence was given a fresh coat of paint and new landscaping was planted throughout the park.
Along with more than 30 Bengals players and their wives, Bengals staff, the Marvin Lewis Community Fund teamed up with over 200 volunteers including employees from Home Depot, Best Buy, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, National City, Roto-Rooter, and West Chester Holdings.
Other corporate donors and partners helping with this year’s Hometown Huddle project were Art’s Rental, Bell’s Nursery, Brentwood Landscape & Design, Castellini Company, Charron Sports, Chiquita, Cincinnati Bengals, College Hill Forum, Distinctive Signs, Game Day Communications, Glidden Paints, Home City Ice, McDaniel’s Photography, National City, National Football League, Panera Bread, Pepsi, Prestige AV & Creative Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Roto-Rooter, Rumpke, Trophy Awards, Vonderhaar’s Catering, Wearport, and West Chester Holdings.
The NFL/United Way “Hometown Huddle” is an NFL-wide day of service that provides NFL players, coaches, wives, and staff from each team and their communities the opportunity to participate in a variety of community-service activities. The goal is to create a lasting impression in the community and promote volunteerism.
