In every community and
every city, one priority looms above all
others – serving and protecting the
needs of children. The Greater Cincinnati
Region features more than its share of hurdles
and obstacles for our children, especially
those living in some of the lower income,
inner-city neighborhoods.
Today’s children
face a seemingly endless array of challenges
and decisions, which makes community role
models and leaders more important than ever.
With this in mind, Marvin and Peggy Lewis
launched the Marvin Lewis Community Fund
(MLCF) on October 9, 2003.
|
Since then, Marvin has spread the
message of community involvement and
accountability. Speaking at schools
and fund-raisers, and giving his time
and energy to countless causes, he has
been a tireless community activist and
youth advocate. |
The Marvin Lewis Community
Fund has partnered with seven regional non-profit
organizations and supports its signature
programs. The MLCF supports these organizations
through its fund-raising efforts, serving
as a conduit for donors eager to connect
with worthwhile, inner-city programs while
also funding other area non-profits.
October 9, 2003 was the
official kickoff press conference announcing
the Marvin Lewis Community Fund. The press
event was highlighted by a $10,000 check
presentation from the Cincinnati Bengals.

Looking
ahead, Coach Lewis plans to continue his
role as a community leader, lending his
voice, visibility and passion to issues
that affect the Greater Cincinnati Region
and its children. He will continue encouraging
his players to follow his lead, while inspiring
countless other leaders in the community
to do the same.
